SkaDate Profile Builder review | By: doubleBoss

This dating script review is about a feature of SkaDate with name Profile Builder. Nowadays everybody wants to be unique and show his/her personality. Dating and social networking sites usually offer such tools to customize the profile in the way the user likes and sees the life. According to the statement on SkaDate’s web-site, this solution has such a tool based on AJAX:

So, let’s see what this Profile Builder tool can be used for and how much it customizes your profile.

First of all I would like to ask a quick question to the developers of SkaDate. Why your solution doesn’t work in IE6?

Ok. This was just a quick note. Don’t want to extend this part. This dating script review is not about SkaDate, but about one of its features – Profile Builder.

I’m using FireFox 3.0.6 for this SkaDate review as it doesn’t work in IE, even couldn’t log in using IE.

Here’s the look of the Profile Builder:

The drag’n’drop objects have a red “x” on the top right corner of the object. If you click on it, the object will disappear. However not all the objects in the profile are such movable. “Details”, “Photos”, “Add comment” objects can’t be moved.

Let’s continue this dating script review.

Another thing which I don’t understand here. What’s the use of ADD COMMENT box when it is shown to the owner of the profile. The owner will leave comments on his own profile? :)

Here how the profile “building” process works:

The feature is good implemented. It is like widget technology – switch on the modules which you want to see on your desktop.

However this feature of SkaDate can’t be categorized as a Profile customization tool. Customization mostly means the change of the look of something, making it look in the way you like or feel it. Here you can just drag and drop boxes. Can’t change colors, backgrounds or anything else. Don’t think that changing the location of the boxes on the page makes that page unique.
